Winsford Diamonds 0 – 5 Egerton Panthers U9’s

Egerton coped with difficult conditions the better of the two teams with man of the match Ben Henthorn and Matthew Willis coping brilliantly with both gales and onrushing attackers. Playing into the wind Egerton, took the lead when Luke Granger slotted home coolly. Bradley Hargreaves was a constant threat down the right and Stan Smith nearly profited at the far post. A second was added before the break when a fantastic through ball by Ben Henthorn picked out Jack Curbishley who made no mistake from the edge of the area. The Panthers didn’t let up after half time and Freddie Sass soon threaded the ball to Jack Curbishley who picked up his second of the game and sixth of the season. A fourth came from route one tactics when a long clearance by Mitchell Brown fell to Bradley Hargreaves who pushed the ball wide before crashing the ball home from the edge of the area. There was just time for Stan Smith to chase a lost cause and win possession before calmly slipping the ball past the keeper.
