Weaverham 3 – 2 Egerton Pumas U9’s

The Pumas started brightly and took the lead in the first half when Leo Buckley forced the keeper into a difcult save and Adam Lee was close at hand to prod the ball home. The same combination almost worked another goal when a neat interchange Leo Buckley and Adam Lee forced another good save but this time the ball went to safety. Once again Ed Franklin was dominating the midfield and Isaac Bennett solidly holding the back line as the game swung end to end and Jasper Kearns had to show some smart handling of the ball. Ben Haselden was unlucky to see his effort go narrowly wide following an Archie Phillips corner. After the half time interval, Weaverham caught the Egerton defence napping and pulled back an equaliser. Egerton responded and Ollie Oldbury’s mazy run beat three men but not the keeper. Archie Phillips found himself free but again could not find the net. A long clearance by man of the match Andy Price fell into the path of Ollie Oldbury who coolly slipped the ball past the keeper. Weaverham responded immediately to level. Egerton kept pressing with Paolo Tabone linking play well but there was time for Weaverham to grab a winner and leave the Pumas disappointed.
